At Target Logistics International (TLI), our Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a strategic combination of art and science designed to optimize the entire process of acquiring raw components, transforming them into finished products or services, and delivering them efficiently to customers. We recognize that SCM involves more than just the movement of goods—it’s about creating value through coordinated efforts, ensuring products are delivered on time, at the right cost, and with the highest quality. Below are the five core components of our SCM approach:
The planning phase forms the foundation of our SCM. It involves developing a strategy for managing resources and fulfilling customer demand. A critical aspect of planning is establishing metrics that enable us to monitor and enhance the efficiency of the supply chain. Our goal is to reduce costs while maintaining high-quality service and delivering value to customers.
In this stage, we identify and select the suppliers that will provide the necessary goods and services to create our products. We work with suppliers to establish pricing, delivery terms, and payment processes, all while creating metrics to monitor and improve supplier relationships. Our inventory management processes ensure seamless receipt of goods, verification, transfer to manufacturing facilities, and timely payments to suppliers.
The production phase involves scheduling activities for manufacturing, testing, packaging, and preparing products for delivery. This is the most metric-intensive portion of our supply chain, where we focus on measuring quality, production output, and worker productivity to maintain high standards throughout the production process.
This phase, often referred to as logistics, involves coordinating order fulfillment and product delivery. We develop an efficient network of warehouses, select reliable carriers to deliver products to customers, and implement an invoicing system to ensure prompt payments.
The return phase addresses the challenges of managing product returns. We establish a network for processing defective or excess products returned by customers and provide support to resolve any issues with delivered items.
